Plein Air Exhibition with Karen Weihs, July 18

July 1, 2014

Co-founder of the Cashiers Plein Air Festival, Karen Weihs is sharing works of art at Dovecote, July 18,  1 p.m. – 3 pm. Weihs studied with LaMar Dodd at the University of Georgia, earning a BFA degree.

The magic happens and draws me in, and I find myself driven to capture and paint those responses over and over again. It’s deeply gratifying. This erudition has earned me a confidence in looking for the cutting edge of paint technique, ever evolving to a higher standard. Usually the viewer can find something of the subject matter to relate to. This process allows me to tackle a subject that may or may not appear as my eyes see, painting the paint.

This class is for  beginners and intermediates who paint in Acrylic. This class is not for water color or oil.

I have been painting for about 15 years. What I know is not taught in books and most likely will show you that anyone can paint and everyone is an artist.

I paint both acrylic and wax. I sell and I donate my work.
