Harvest time is upon us. My blackberries, plums, kale & cucumbers are begging for appreciation.
Why do we love to put-up a harvest? Is it the ephemeral burst of flavor captured in bottle… the tastes of summer brought inside… or the pursuit of health for your family and friends? Please Save My Seat! Late in life, I learned that I love to bottle things. Playing with wines is full of hope. Making pickles piques my interest & preserves were a piece of cake. Today, the back of my car resembles a miniature farmer’s market.
Try your hand at pickling and bottling! Its fun. I’ll have supplies for blackberry wine-making & plum preserves, okra & cucumbers for pickling. Bring your own recipe to share. Please Save My Seat!
You’ll go home with a bottle of elderflower champaign (!) made this summer, recipes plus other goodies like plum preserves. $25 will hold your seat. Workshop limited to just a handful (due to counter space restrictions). Please Save My Seat! or call 828-743-0307 by 5pm Thursday, August 3.
—————————————– This Bottle-UP & Go Workshop is Friday August 4 from 10-noon.
Please save your seat by calling 828-743-0307 or PLEASE SAVE MY SEAT! Very limited seating.
