Interested in Landscape Design? Would you like to learn from the best? Mary Palmer Dargan, ASLA is closely involved with the Certificate of Accomplishment in Landscape and Garden Design (CCALD) sponsored by Clemson University Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture in the School of Art, Architecture and Humanities.

A certificate holder is well-versed in the issues and execution of landscape design. The certificate consists of 72 hours of lecture & design which build a fully-expressed program in landscape appreciation, landscape history, plant materials, design technology, construction and planting design. The design studio, consisting of 12 sessions, teaches the fundamentals of design and drawing plans to scale.

  • Homeowners will learn about the four part master plan, how to interface well with a contractor, plus design their own landscape.
  • Architects and designers will refine the skills required to organize functional landscape areas and express three-dimensionally concepts.
  • Garden center staff will better understand clients needs by experiencing the total picture of landscape design and construction.
  • Landscape contractors & builders will attain a high level of exposure to new landscape construction techniques and a connoisseurship of ideas and execution.
